Update for the little "P"

I so apologize for not being more consistant with updating Peanuts blog. I would like to thank KOMO TV and George Howell for the interview and update for the bulldogs and french bulldogs from the Vohs/Greatsinger puppy mill saga.

Thank you to the viewers that sent Peanut and the others their donations, it has been so helpful in the continuings of our organization.

Since the news story Cascade has been contacted by the person that had all of the dogs in question. We were accused of giving false information on Peanut to get money for her. Very hurtful... We were told that Peanut's head scar was from an "open Fontenel" at birth and not from abuse. We have asked for the documentation stating such but have not rec'd it to date.

At any rate, little Peanut has been to the neurologist and we were given a relatively clean bill of health. She does have one vertebra inbetween her shoulders and neck that is mishappen and does appear to cause her a little difficulty with her back legs, but very little.

Her severe, severe chronic bladder infection has been resolved with 2 very high powered anti biotics and being spayed. We were afraid that she may have some nerve damage that was causing her to retain some urine and thus made her dribble her pee, but that was not the case.

The worst part for this sweet little girl was when the xray revealed she had "Mega Colon". When we first had her we didnt really notice that her poop was different, only that there was little bits here and there. Our vet showed us the xray and explained that her poop was just like cement in her colon and had been that was her whole life, which will be 3 yrs this July. Can you all imagine have constipation for that length of time?

We started her immediately on a stool softener and within 6 days we had POOP!!! We have never been so excited to see poop in all of our lives. :) She is now eating only canned dog food, Nature Variety Instinct, Venison, no more kibble, she needs all the moisture she can get to keep her colon as normal as possible. She has relatively normal poop now.

The change in this little dog since she has been spayed and all of the sickness inside has been stunning to say the least.

She RUNS thru the house, she plays with toys, she wrestles and plays with the other Frenchies, she is so incredibly happy. If we hadnt seen it with our own eyes we would have never believed she was the same little girl. She is a member of the Frenchie pack!!
